From Harmony and Unity－To the Concordant Inter-connection of the Christian Faith and Chinese Culture

Abstract

In trying to understand the concept of ‘the preservation of union in great harmony and peace’, we are endowed with the concord and integrity of life. This enables people to recognize: the responsive transformation of life that has its beginning and smooth realization. Smooth realization leads to harmony. With harmony come loyalty and rightness. The virtue of loyalty and chastity and rightness makes people understand that ‘supreme goodness is in virtue’ which is the dynamism of ‘concord’ and ‘harmonious co-existence’ that can rid people’s harshness of hearts to dissolve the atmosphere of cruelty and ruthlessness.
